Epoxy Floor Coating Colors: What Options For a Garage Floor?

This video discusses the best colors for garage floor coating

In matters of floor coating color preferences, there are no right or wrong. But some colors are more fitted for some applications.

Here is what Dallas, Project Manager at Motorcity Floors and Coatings says:

“That’s a great question. I don’t think there’s necessarily a best color, but there are a lot of popular colors that suit a lot of people’s needs.

One of them is being like a gray or a tan type color. And there’s actually one called Pebble Beach, and that one is amazing. People love it. It has the natural look of aggregate and concrete, so it ties into a lot of different areas without being necessarily tied to just one color. Maybe a blue four, so it’s like a gray, it’s a tan, it has some white, so things like that in there. Really a neutral-type color.

And then there’s another one called Silver Creek, which is three or four different shades of gray and then a white. Really neutral ties into a lot of different colors. Could change the space a ton of different times. And the fourth is going to mesh with it perfectly. Is there a better color for a garage floor coating?

Based on vehicles, if you’re looking for in a garage type space or maybe a showroom type space, something that’s going to give the floor a little pop, but maybe not take away from the car too much. I’d say it’s going to be one of the lighter or the whiter floors.

There is Siberian; also Slate Stone falls into that one, like a white, a gray, and a little bit of blue in there.

And then there’s also one called Orbit, which is blue, white, and black. Those are probably the colors you would see if you went to Home Depot and bought the DIY kits. It’s a really popular color and it goes with a lot of different things.

What about a shop? I’d say if they had a workshop type space. I think one of your better colors is going to be a Silver Creek type of color, which is like a gray and a white. It’s neutral. If you drop bolt or something on the ground, that is a common thing that people have questions about. Hey, if I drop something, there’s a bit of a pattern on the floor, am I going to be able to find it? And with a color like Silver Creek, it’s really neutral, easy to see things.

Just go to the back of your space, find any natural light you have in the setting, and it’s going to pop right out the floor. Super easy to see and super easy to clean.”

The best color for your floor coating depends on the application you are looking at. A garage? A shop? Some other type of application, like a patio or a walkway?
